Free workshops on technology and today’s digital lifestyle are offered at the third annual GEEK DAY @ LEEWARD on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Leeward Community College, from 9:30 am-2:30 pm.

The College offers free hands-on workshops and demonstrations on a variety of digital, mobile and technology topics, from social media and cloud computing to digital photography and video. The sessions are designed for the general public, with several sessions geared to educators, small businesses and non-profits.

All activities are free and open to the public. Workshops include both Mac and Windows platforms. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for registration, with the first session beginning at 9:30 am. Door prizes include an iPod Touch, Apple TV, iTunes certificates and more.

Geek Day also offers the “Really Smart” Bar, where you can bring your Mac and PC software & hardware questions and problems and our “Future Geniuses” will solve them (or email you the solution within 48 hours).

For the Photography sessions, participants are asked to bring their own camera.

FOR WIRELESS ACCESS: One-day access can be provided if you send a request with your name and phone number to kcabral@hawaii.edu before 8:00 pm on March 16. Include your first & last name and phone number.  A password will be provided via email.
